·           Four to six treatments spaced four weeks apart produce the optimum result.

Pre – Treatment

·         Avoid the sun for 4-6 weeks before and after treatment or until your physician allows it.

·         You MUST avoid bleaching, plucking or waxing hair for 6 weeks prior to treatment.

Procedure Description

The CoolGlide Excel cools and soothes as it glides along your skin. A powerful pulse of light targets unwanted hair without harming your skin. A built-in cooling tip helps protect the skin and minimize discomfort.

No anesthesia or pain medication is required although some patients use a topical anesthetic cream or lotion when sensitive areas are treated. Afterward, an ice pack or cooling gel may be applied to soothe the treated area.

Recuperation and Healing

Redness and swelling similar to sunburn may occur in some patients. These may last a few hours or more. The laser may leave red marks that typically clear in a few days. Major side-effects are extremely uncommon.

It will be a few days to a few weeks before the destroyed hair begins to fall out, depending on the hair growth cycle. Some patients confuse this with re-growth but that isn't the case. Hair growth will be reduced after the first visit and significantly reduced after the treatment cycle.

The area should be protected from sunlight after the treatment. After four days, you may begin shaving but you should not wax, pluck, or use hair removing creams on the treatment area.

Payment, Insurance, and Financing

Laser hair removal is considered cosmetic and is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment but financing is available. For more information, ask our staff.
